A Historical Milestone for the Chamber of Alcoi
The Alcoi Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services celebrates a crucial moment in its history with the election of Lucía Pascual Valor as president, becoming the first woman to assume this role. This significant milestone is part of a context of change that is reflected not only in the entity, but also in local society.
Consolidation of Leadership and New Goals
After a unanimous vote held on July 30, Lucía takes over from Pablo de Gracia, who has led the organization for the past few years. Prior to her election, Pascual served as treasurer, a position now held by Isabel Calatayud, from the Licores Sinc business, who has also received the support of the plenary.
Acknowledgments and Commitments
In her first speech before the members of the Chamber, Lucía expressed her gratitude for the support received. He made a special mention to Pablo de Gracia, recognizing his work at the head of the organization. Pascual has expressed his intention to continue and complete several projects that the former president started six years ago.
Betting on Business Collaboration
The new president has reiterated the importance of collaborating with all Alcoi companies to ensure the success of the Chamber’s current project. It also highlights its intention to facilitate the development of the investment attraction office, recently launched by Alcoi City Council, with the aim of boosting the local economy.
A Message of Normality and Inclusion
With palpable emotion, Lucía highlighted the significance of this election, proposing that, despite the delay, the Alcoi Chamber will have to open a new paradigm with its first president. He mentioned the rich history of industrious women in the area, from the bambuneras to the textile workers, emphasizing that now, like them, the Chamber has a female voice in its top leadership.
