A week of atmospheric movement

The approaching week promises to be a meteorological show, according to Mario Picazo’s forecasts. The meteorologist emphasized that several Atlantic fronts will affect Spain, introducing a new chapter of rain and snow in the mountainous areas.

Start of rainfall

From Monday, a first front will begin to unfold in the west of the Peninsula, with special attention to Galicia, Castile and León, as well as in Andalusia. The rains will move south and the center of the country, reaching the Mediterranean coast during the following days.

Possible storms

Mario Picazo does not rule out storms in some regions, especially between Tuesday and Wednesday, as weather conditions become more dynamic.

The wind and the waves: an intense accompaniment

In addition to the rains, the wind will become a factor to consider. Picazo has warned that the gusts will become stronger as the fronts cross the peninsula, with a significant impact on the northwest and coast.

Temporary Maritime Expected

The wind, along with the waves, will create a maritime storm panorama that will affect various coastal areas, generating adverse conditions for navigation.

Snowfall in mountainous areas

In terms of snow, the height is expected to remain around 1,500 meters in the northern half of Spain, facilitating significant accumulations in mountainous systems. However, the snowfall at lower altitudes will be rare compared to previous weeks.

Perspectives for the weekend

From Thursday, a new northwest front is expected to enter, with a limited effect, but the weekend could be more intense with the arrival of a more active frontal system that could cause widespread rainfall .

Thermal fluctuations

Temperatures will experience fluctuations typical of February, with a slight increase during the weekend, followed by a steep descent due to the fronts that will enter between Monday and Wednesday.

Temperatures in major cities

Cities like Murcia, Seville, Córdoba, Melilla and Malaga could see daytime temperatures around 20 degrees, with some points of Canary Islands, adding to this trend. However, these conditions will be temporary, as atmospheric variability will dominate the week.
