Works scheduled in full weekend

This coming weekend, the city’s metro network will experience interruptions in two sections of lines 1 and 2, taking advantage of the traditional decrease in the flow of passengers during Easter.

Improvements to the Clot Station

On line 1, known as the Red, the work will be concentrated at the Clot station, where elevators are being installed to facilitate access to the platforms. The section between Glòries and La Sagrera will be inactive on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13.

A project with great impact

The work, supervised by the Department of Territory and Sustainability, aims to ensure that the Clot interchange is accessible to all people, including those with reduced mobility. This improvement has an estimated cost of more than seven million euros.

Six Stations of the L2 Without Services

On the other hand, Line 2, or lilac, will affect six stops from Saturday to Easter Monday, April 21, with the suspension of the service between Peace and Badalona / Pompeu Fabra.

Improvements in infrastructure

The works at the Artigues and Sant Adrià stations, as well as in Pep Ventura, focus on the improvement of road platforms, with a budget of 1.7 million euros, to reduce incidents and optimize the service.

Mobility alternatives

With service cuts, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) recommends the use of the metro network as a more efficient option. However, a shuttle bus service has been enabled to complement public transport.

Agglomerations at the affected stops

Glòries and Sagrera stops have seen an increase in passengers, with queues to access the shuttle buses, which has generated some agglomerations.

Connexions Alternatives

Despite the availability of the bus service, TMB recommends continuing to use the metro network. In La Sagrera, travelers can connect with lines L5, L9 North and L10 North, while Clot is links to the L2 and several bus lines.

Options to the L2

For its part, at the Peace Station, travelers can access the L4, and from Besòs, take the section to San Roc i Gorg, where there are also connections with the L10 North.

Final reflections

With these works, the city is moving towards better accessibility and efficiency in its public transport system, a necessary step for a more inclusive and functional future.
