A new age for Miami Beach
In a historic moment for the community, Miami Platja celebrates the inauguration of a renewed promenade, an emblematic project that has been carried out with the aim of revitalizing the coastal area. This event took place during the Festa Major de Sant Josep, with the presence of prominent local authorities and hundreds of neighbors who wanted to witness this time.
Significant improvements and commitment to the environment
With more than three kilometers of renewed coast, the new walk has been designed to prioritize sustainable mobility. Vehicles from the coastal strip have been eliminated, creating a more accessible and secure space for pedestrians. The removal of the protection wall has improved visibility, while natural paths have been established that foster a more direct connection with the environment.
An investment that makes the difference
The project, which has required a significant investment of 11 million euros by the central government, represents a great step forward for Miami Platja and Mont-roig. This amount, if distributed among the 14,000 residents, is approximately one thousand euros per person, a remarkable effort to improve community well -being.
Reflections of local leaders
Mayor Fran Morancho expressed his enthusiasm during the inauguration, emphasizing the importance of the community project. “This reform is a manifestation of our commitment to the territory and the environment,” he said, emphasizing the need to recover the natural space that had been damaged by the lack of planning in the past.
A step towards sustainability
In line with the values of sustainability, the project has incorporated the recovery of native vegetation and the creation of habitats for local fauna. “This is an inheritance that we want to leave for future generations,” Morancho added.
A space for community and tourism
In addition to being a promenade, the new promenade is designed to be a meeting point for premises and visitors, thus contributing to sustainable tourism and the local economy. With a design adapted to the 21st century, it is sought to ensure that the space is resilient in the face of the effects of climate change.
Innovative design items
The project also includes several areas of rest and children’s games, as well as viewpoints that offer spectacular views of the coast. These facilities not only beautify the space, but also promote an active lifestyle among users.
A claim finally served
The remodeling of the Paseo de les Cales by Miami Platja was a historical demand that has been on the agenda for years. With an original project designed in 2010, this area has finally been transformed, which had so far been marginalized compared to other coastal locations.
The inauguration, which was initially scheduled for November, was postponed by adverse weather conditions. Now, with the complete project, the community can enjoy a renewed space that reflects its identity and its commitment to nature.
