The female vuelta returns to local roads
On May 5, Molins de Rei will witness an exciting cycling day with the departure of the second stage of the female vuelta. The participants will travel 99 km that will take them from our town to Sant Boi de Llobregat, with a challenging second category port, the Alt de la Creu de l’Aragall (515 m), at the beginning of the journey.
An expected event that stands out in the sports calendar
The news of this stage was revealed during the official presentation of the Women’s Vuelta, held on March 10. This edition, which will begin on May 4 in Barcelona, will culminate in Cotobello (Asturias) on the 10th of the same month, promising moments of high competitiveness.
Cycling History of Molins de Rei
This is not the first time that Molins de Rei has hosted a great test. The town was already the scene of an outing of the Volta a Catalunya in 2003 and saw the arrival of this same competition twenty years later, in 2023. In addition, the men’s vuelta also passed through the municipality last year. In fact, next year, the population will enjoy the presence of cyclists of the 113rd edition of the Tour de France.

The Mayor of Molins de Rei, Xavi Paz, has expressed the excitement of welcoming these events: “The presence of the female vuelta and the Tour de France is an excellent news for our municipality.
