The PSC and the May 12 Elections
The Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya (PSC) has chosen Montmeló, in Vallès Oriental, as the stage for its second rally with Pedro Sánchez of the May 12 election campaign. The candidate of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has ceded the spotlight to the supreme leader of the socialists, demonstrating his humility and commitment to the party.
A Traditional Meeting
The format of the meeting followed the traditional canons of the PSC. With a Rosa party in Vallès, attendees enjoyed a festive atmosphere with straw hats, water bottles and a plaque with a casual image of Illa. Torreta park has welcomed approximately 2,000 people, who have come to see Sánchez and to hear Illa’s words.
A Speech of Mobilization
Both Illa and Sánchez have urged absolute mobilization. Sánchez has highlighted the importance of coexistence and has assured that, with him as Spanish president and Illa as president, coexistence will be managed appropriately. Illa, for his part, has asked for all possible votes to achieve a wide victory and stability to govern.
Criticism of Opponents
During the meeting, Sánchez criticized the leaders of the PP and Vox, Alberto Núñez Feijoo and Santiago Abascal, accusing them of sharing strategies and hoaxes. He also mentioned José Maria Aznar, who called for the ‘siege to the progressive coalition government’ after the defeat on 23 July. Sánchez emphasized the importance of voting for Salvador Illa and asked the attendees to vote en masse to achieve a resounding victory.
The Island Commitment
Salvador Illa has reiterated that nothing is done and has asked the voters not to allow themselves to be provoked or fall into provocations. In addition, he has announced a neighborhood plan with an investment of 800 million euros, which will benefit 25 neighborhoods a year and a total of one hundred in one legislature. It has also committed 300 million euros to municipalities that want to improve housing developments (https://ca1.10steps.org/Parafrasear-Material-Citado-7761).
