A step forward in the care of the elderly
The City Council of Vandellòs and Hospitalet de l’Infant has given the green light to the creation of a new municipal service for the elderly during its last plenary session, held on March 27. The initiative was unanimously supported by all the political groups present.
Target of the new service
The residence, called ‘Residence People L’Hospitalet de l’Infant’, has the main mission of offering comprehensive care to the elderly who are in situations of dependency or social vulnerability. This service is aimed at those who cannot do the daily activities without help and who need constant support.
An environment adapted to the needs
The aim is to create a space that replaces the family home, designed specifically to meet the care needs of this group, while promoting its personal and social autonomy. The new residence will seek to provide a safe and cozy atmosphere.
Location and ability
Located on Ramon Berenguer Avenue, 5 from Hospitalet de l’Infant, the residence will have a capacity for 40 people, thus offering a suitable solution for those who need specialized care.
Facilities and services
The building will be equipped with several functional areas that include accommodation areas with individual and shared rooms, as well as adapted baths. There will also be common spaces such as living rooms and dining rooms, as well as health care areas with physiotherapy clinics and rooms.
General services
In addition, the residence will have general services such as kitchen, laundry, visiting room, and a maintenance and cleaning equipment to ensure the proper functioning of the facilities.
Multidisciplinary team
The center will be managed by a multidisciplinary team made up of professionals from different areas. This includes directors, administrative staff, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and geriatric assistants, as well as social workers and psychologists, who will work together to ensure quality care.
A promising future for the elderly
With this new initiative, the City Council not only seeks to improve the quality of life of the elderly, but also to promote a more inclusive society that values and respects its older members. The residence will represent an important resource for families who need support in the care of their loved ones.
