A well -received initiative

At the last meeting of the Municipal Plenum, held on March 27, the City Council of Vandellòs and Hospitalet de l’Infant gave a green light to a significant project: the creation of a municipal service dedicated to the residence of the elderly. This decision, which had the unanimous support of all the political groups present, marks an important step towards improving the care of the elderly in the municipality.

Objectives of the new service

The new residence, called the Elderly Gent L’Hospitalet de l’Infant, has the main mission of providing comprehensive care to those older individuals who are in situations of dependency or social vulnerability. It seeks to create an atmosphere that replaces the family home, adapted to the specific needs of these users, thus promoting the maintenance of their autonomy.

Spaces designed for welfare

The residence will be located on Ramon Berenguer Avenue, 5 and will have a capacity for 40 residents. The facilities will include individual and shared rooms, adapted baths, as well as common areas such as living rooms and dining rooms. In addition, spaces for health care are expected, such as a nursing and a physiotherapy room.

A Diversified Professional Team

To guarantee quality care, the residence will have a multidisciplinary team made up of professionals from various areas, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers and psychologists. This diversity of profiles will allow to address the needs of each resident in a comprehensive way.

Changes in municipal regulation

During the session, the modification of the Municipal Organic Regulation was also approved, a change that will affect the dynamics of the plenary sessions. From now on, the number of questions that can be raised during the sessions will be limited, with the aim of making the debate more efficient. This new regulation will allow the inclusion of urgent issues on the agenda, a measure that seeks to speed up decision -making.

Rates and remuneration

The plenary also approved an increase in taxi service rates by 2025, as well as the modification of remuneration for councilors working exclusively. This measure seeks to ensure fair compensation for those who devote their time to public service.

Motions and debates

Several motions presented by different groups were discussed, including proposals for public residence management and the municipality’s declaration as an anti -fascist. However, most of these initiatives did not prosper, reflecting the diversity of opinions between different political groups.

Changes in the composition of the plenary

The plenary session was also the stage for the taking over by Néstor Cano Toledo as the new PSC-CP councilor, replacing Aaron Pueyo. Likewise, changes have been made in the direction of various councilors, with the aim of optimizing municipal management.

Final reflections

With the creation of this new residence and the approved modifications, the City Council seeks to better respond to the needs of its population, especially of the most vulnerable groups. The implementation of these initiatives will be a key indicator of the effectiveness of local policies in the future.
