An innovative proposal loaded with content

This July, Ona Mediterrània presents a novelty in the island entertainment scene with the launch of its new radio program, ‘Refrit Mallorquí’. This program promises to be an innovative proposal loaded with content that will captivate the attention of listeners.

A mirror of Mallorca

As its name suggests, ‘Refrit Mallorquí’ is a program that revolves around Mallorca. Through a humorous and satirical approach, the program addresses the dramas and hardships experienced by the inhabitants of the island. The aim is to provide a mirror to humorously self-criticize and laugh at one’s misfortunes instead of keeping them quiet and brooding inwardly. This practice is such a distinctive feature of Mallorcans.

The creators and their vision

In a recent interview, Joan Guasp and Guillem Casals, the creators of the program, shared their vision. Their main goal is not to win awards or get recognition, but to have fun and make listeners enjoy their stories. They also want to contribute to reviving the island’s entertainment scene, which they consider too influenced by social networks and the peninsular landscape.

Audience interaction and content creation

The promoters of ‘Refrit Mallorquí’ not only want to do radio, but also create content for podcasts and share excerpts on social networks. They want to encourage interaction with the public, asking for opinions, topics and anecdotes from listeners. The aim is to create a vibrant community and make Mallorcan culture ‘cool’.

Collaborators and funding

During the month of July, the program has the collaboration of Toni Adrover and Biel Capellà. The creators hope that the ‘Refrita’ community will grow over time, both in contributors and viewers. As for funding, they are looking for sponsors and patrons through the Patreon platform to make this project a success.

Where and when to listen to ‘Refrit Mallorcan’

‘Refrit Mallorcan’ will be broadcast every Wednesday in July from 12.00 to 13.00 on Ona Mediterrània. The episodes will also be available on onamediterrania.cat and Spotify for those who cannot listen to them live. Do not miss it!
