The hidden point of sale

The Civil Guard has carried out operation STAWRAS, dismantling a cannabis club in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, which operated as a clandestine drug sales point.

Investigation and arrests

The investigation began after receiving complaints from businessmen in the tourism sector about drug trafficking in the vicinity of their establishments. The agents discovered a large flow of people, mainly foreign tourists, who went to the cannabis club and left with narcotic substances.

After identifying those responsible, the Civil Guard arrested three men: the manager of the club, 23 years old and with no criminal record, and two young men aged 29 and 22, both with criminal records, accused of crimes against public health.

Customer acquisition

Investigators discovered that two young people linked to drug sales acted as customer recruiters for the cannabis club, taking potential buyers to the establishment.

After leaving the clients inside, the recruiters returned alone, presumably to receive compensation for their services.

Search and seizure

Once the illicit activity of the club was confirmed, the Civil Guard searched the premises, where they seized 13 chocolate cakes with suspected marijuana, 17 cigarettes manufactured with marijuana, 732.8 grams of marijuana buds of different varieties, 420 euros in cash and documentation .

The manager of the establishment was arrested while trying to access the club, and the detainees, along with the substances and effects seized, were brought to justice.
