With summer just around the corner, it’s time to plan your vacation
With summer just around the corner, it’s time to start planning your vacation. The freedom to rest and live life without the need to watch the time is priceless, and this disconnection is usually done while traveling. Car journeys can be long and frustrating, and getting all your luggage into the trunk can become a real chore.
Load your luggage safely and neatly
Fitting all the suitcases is like Tetris. A misplaced tile can dismantle the entire structure, so precision and fine-tuned order are required. Having said that, the magazine of the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) has given a series of keys to load all the luggage in a safe and orderly manner. These tips seek to make travel comfortable, make the vehicle suffer less or make fuel consumption more efficient.
Everything in its place
The trunk is designed to carry luggage, and you need to use it properly. It is best not to carry objects on the seats or on top of the passengers and, if necessary, place a luggage rack on the roof. Each space has its function, and suitcases must go in the back of the vehicle.
Reduce weight
Driving without much weight means that the car consumes less and therefore increases safety. The cost of petrol can grow up to 6% for every 100 kilos. The vehicle will appreciate a lower load, and your checking account probably will too.
Place heavy objects on the bottom
The heaviest objects should go in the lowest part of the trunk. The center of gravity will be lower and the car will be more stable during the journey. The journey will be safer and you will avoid unnecessary problems.
Fasten your seat belts in empty seats
Even if there are no passengers in the back of the car, it is recommended to fasten the seat belts. It may sound absurd, but there is a logical explanation: if a collision or braking occurs, you can prevent luggage from ending up inside the vehicle and causing serious damage.
Anchor and use a net
Once your luggage is in place, you can use a net to anchor all your suitcases. This can prevent the suitcases from shifting during the trip.
Have the necessary items on hand
Keep the items you may need during the trip handy. Before, however, make sure they are in order, and you can put them in the compartments of the trunk. That way you can grab them without problems and without having to stir everything.
