This Thursday, April 30, at 7:00 p.m., the Quart Creixent bookstore (carrer d’en Rubí, 5), in Palma, will be the scene of two exciting book presentations.
The literary truth of Teresa Pàmies
One of the presentations will be from the book ‘The literary truth of Teresa Pàmies’, written by Montserrat Bacardí and published by Eumo Edicions. This work was awarded the III Ricard Torrents Bertrana Essay Prize. In this book, Bacardí offers us a fascinating insight into the life and work of Teresa Pàmies, a Catalan writer, journalist and activist who left an unparalleled literary legacy.
A girl and a soldier
The other presentation will be of the novel ‘A girl and a soldier’, written by Teresa Pàmies and introduced by Montserrat Bacardí. This work, published by Adesiara publishing house, transports us to an exciting story set in wartime, full of emotions and intrigue.
Outstanding personalities
At the presentation event, we will have the pleasure of having the presence of several outstanding personalities in the world of culture and literature. Montserrat Bacardí, author of the book ‘The Literary Truth of Teresa Pàmies’, will be one of the guests. Bacardí is a member of the Historical-Archaeological Section (SHA) of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC) and a professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). We will also have the participation of Mercè Picornell, professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), and Damià Pons, member of the SHA and delegate to Palma del IES.
Teresa Pàmies and Bertran
During these presentations, we will remember the figure of Teresa Pàmies i Bertran, a Catalan writer, journalist and activist born in 1919 in Balaguer and who died in 2012. Daughter of the Balaguer Marxist leader Tomàs Pàmies, Teresa Pàmies was a woman committed to its time and left a literary legacy of great value. From her first work, ‘Testament a Praga’, written when she was 50 years old, to her last publications, Teresa Pàmies captivated readers with her pen and her commitment to the United Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSUC) . In total, he wrote about fifty works that continue to be read and admired today.
