An opportunity for emerging musicians
From March 27 to May 22, Barcelona will host the fourth edition of Impulsacimc, an innovative concert cycle designed to promote young performers. Organized by the Catalan Association of Classical Music Interpreters, this event seeks to offer a platform for new talents from the music world.
Selection of candidates and repertoire
A jury of experts, with prominent names such as the violinist Gerard Claret and the flutist Patricia de No, has chosen five musicians from the 46 aspirants who submitted their applications. The selected ones, who will perform in the AIE of Barcelona, are Mar Gimferrer (cello, March 27), Ismael Arroyo (saxophone, April 10), Emma Campàs (guitar, April 24), Alba Valdivieso (soprano, May 8) and Núria Tamarit (Flute, May 22). The performances will begin at 7pm.
Valuation of quality and diversity
The selection of candidates was based on their musical quality and the originality of the repertoire presented. The participants had to include contemporary works of Catalan composers, with a special emphasis on the creations of women composers, an initiative that the jury has valued very positively.
A richly diversified programming
The cycle will not only include works of great contemporary names such as Miquel Ortega and Salvador Brotons, but also pay tribute to classic composers such as Gaspar Cassadó and Isaac Albéniz. In addition, pieces of women composers such as Alma Mahler, Clara Schumann and the young Maria Camahort will be performed, providing a fresh and inclusive perspective on the program.
Special premieres and celebrations
One of the most anticipated moments will be the premiere of a new work for Jorge Grundmann’s sax and piano, as well as the 150th anniversary of the opera Carmen de Bizet with the interpretation of the Borne’s Bright Fantaisie, promising a unique musical experience.
AIE Award: Recognize Talent
A jury made up of prominent professionals such as the pianist Isabel Fèlix will choose the most interesting proposal, which will be awarded the AIE Prize, valued at 2,000 euros and various performances scheduled for Catalonia during the years 2025 and 2026.
Commitment to new generations
Not only does Imlare seek to offer live performances, it also aims to be a comprehensive support for young musicians, providing fiscal and labor advice. Thanks to the AIE, this initiative aims to help the labor insertion of the new talents of the world of music in Catalonia, fostering a promising future for new voices.
