An Innovative Initiative for the Future of Young People
The Municipality of Escaldes-Engordany, through its Youth Department, has launched a series of talks designed to promote the emotional well-being of adolescents and young people aged 12 to 17, in collaboration with the Andorrà Center for Psychology (CAPSI ). This initiative will run until April 10, 2025, and its main objective is to equip participants with knowledge and tools to face the emotional and social challenges of their day-to-day life.
Various and Relevant Topics
Sessions will cover a wide range of topics that are crucial to youth development. Areas of interest include conflict management techniques, tips for balanced use of technology, as well as the importance of responsible and healthy sexuality. In addition, some talks will have the participation of parents, promoting family dynamics that encourage dialogue.
Next Sessions and Key Themes
The next session will take place on December 5 and will focus on safe sexuality. This meeting aims to debunk common myths about sexuality and highlight the importance of open communication between young people about their desires and limits, thus contributing to healthier and more satisfying relationships.
Activities will resume in January 2025 with a session dedicated to the impact of screens on mental health, scheduled for January 16. This talk will seek to reflect on the use of technology and provide guidelines for integrating healthy digital habits into everyday life.
Building a Family Communication
February 6 will be dedicated to the responsible use of social networks, with the aim of promoting a joint understanding between parents and children on how to interact on these platforms. In addition, on March 6, family communication will be another key topic, focusing on improving the emotional connection between generations through constructive dialogue.
Closing and Final Reflections
The last session, scheduled for April 10, will serve as a review of all the topics discussed during the previous meetings, offering a space to resolve doubts and take stock of the learning acquired.
All sessions will take place in the Escaldes-Engordany Youth Center at 6.30pm, with capacity limited to 15 participants. Registrations will be available from this Monday through the Comú website, and it should be noted that participation is completely free, thus strengthening access to emotional well-being for all young people in the community.
