MÉS for Palma presents new proposals in response to the change in discourse of the Popular Party
The councilors of MÉS for Palma, Miquel Àngel Contreras and Kika Coll, have appeared before the media to once again propose measures against mass tourism, in response to the change of discourse of the Popular Party on tourism matters.
A new political line
According to Contreras, from MÉS for Palma new proposals are being presented in line with what they have been defending for years to ensure the future for citizens, both from an economic and environmental point of view, in view of the change of discourse of the Government of the Balearic Islands and its president Marga Prohens.
Measures in line with environmental sustainability
Contreras has presented a series of proposals that are in line with what MÉS for Palma and MÉS for Mallorca have been defending for years to ensure the future for citizens, both from an economic and environmental point of view.
Reiteration of proposals
MÉS for Palma will once again insist on the regulation of the arrival of cruise ships and the need to reduce them following criteria of environmental sustainability, as well as on other measures such as the regulation of rental cars and the reduction of the environmental footprint.
Consistency requirement
Finally, the formation will demand that Palma City Council stop investing in tourism promotion, highlighting the need for consistency in the actions of the Popular Party.
Criticism of the Popular Party’s lack of a project
Contreras has declared that the PP’s change of script highlights its lack of project and its fear of social response, stating that the Popular Party has no strategy or plan for the Balearic Islands, Mallorca and Palma.
Rejection of the measures by the PP-VOX
Contreras has also criticized the rejection by the PP-VOX binomial of the measures defended by MÉS by Palma, stating that the policies promoted by the PP go in the opposite direction to the needs of the population.
