Reinforcement in infrastructure inspections
In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the railway service in the area affected by the works of Roda de Berà, Adif has decided to increase the number of teams in charge of reviewing the condition of the tracks. This decision was made during the first monitoring meeting between the competent authorities, including the Generalitat and Renfe.
Solving critical technical problems
Following an initial incident that caused a disruption to the service due to a problem with the catenary, authorities have confirmed that the situation has been stabilized. The technicians have worked intensely to solve the failures detected in the Earth train communication system, thus guaranteeing effective communication between the machinists and the control center.
Daily meetings to monitor the situation
Sílvia Paneque, the Minister of Territory, emphasized the importance of having daily meetings to evaluate the evolution of the work and solutions implemented. These meetings attend senior officials such as the Secretary of State for Transport and the President of Renfe, among others, to guarantee a quick response to any mishap.
Commitment to the improvement of the service
Although Paneque has not been able to provide specific dates about when passengers would notice the improvements, he has expressed his intention to work with the maximum efficiency of solving the identified problems. This weekend, he has pledged to ensure that the schedules are communicated to the machinists in advance required to avoid future incidents.
Comparing parliament
The counselor has stated her intention to appear before Parliament to address the issues arising from the reestablishment of the service. He said he hopes to be able to do it next week, in order to inform about the actions taken and the solutions that have been implemented.
