María Calvo Charro: An Outstanding Voice in the Defense of the Family
María Calvo Charro, writer, doctor in Administrative Law and full professor of Administrative Law at the Carlos III University of Madrid, has been awarded the national award “Fighter for the Family 2024”. The award ceremony will take place on May 25 in an event that will be held in the Caixafòrum auditorium in Barcelona. These awards, which are now in their ninth edition, were established by the Platform for the Family.
María Calvo is recognized for her deep understanding of issues related to the family, male and female identity, fatherhood and motherhood, feminism, co-education or differentiated education, gender ideology and other relevant issues. One aspect that has stood out is the promotion of equity rather than simple equality between men and women.
Among his works, titles such as Dispossessed Parents, La masculinitat presa, Pride of a mother, Men and women: brain and education or Equal but different stand out. In addition, he has given numerous conferences on these topics. María Calvo is originally from Madrid, is married and is the mother of four children.
Maria Regina Maroncelli: Another Defender of the Family
This year’s “Fighter for the Family” international award has been awarded to the Italian Maria Regina Maroncelli, who has been president since 2018 of the European Confederation of Large Families. Previously, she held the position of president of the Italian association of large families.
Born and resident in Bergamo, Maroncelli is a mother of four and a freelance journalist specializing in sustainability and society. The aforementioned Confederation, established in 2004, represents nine million large families in Europe. Among its achievements, we must mention the creation of a European card for large families and the promotion of a European network of family-friendly municipalities.
