The International Catalan Film Festival, known as FIC-CAT, has announced the winners of its prestigious awards for the next 2025 edition. On this occasion, the Montserrat Carulla Prize will be awarded to Alex Gorina, a key figure in the promotion and standardization of cinema in the Catalan language.
Alex Gorina: A Pioneer of the Catalan Cinema
Alex Gorina has been a fundamental pillar in the world of Catalan cinema, contributing his vision and passion as a critic in numerous media, including the Guide to the Occio Magazine since its birth in 1977. Its influence also extends to television, where he has been part of the emblematic programs of TV3 such as Cinema 3 and Room 33. In addition, he has co-written the great illusion of Catalan cinema.
A Legate to the Radio
His contribution to the radio, with the program La Ventrea a Viscreta a Catalunya Ràdio, has been crucial for the dissemination of Catalan cinema, establishing a bridge between the audience and local productions.

Guijarro has been one of the few centers that has participated in all the FIC-CAT editions since the category of schools was introduced. His vision of a cinema as a learning and transformation tool has inspired many students.
A tribute to creative teaching
Toni Pinel, co-director of the festival, has expressed his pride in honoring Guijarro, recognizing his contribution to creative audiovisual education in Catalan. “His students become active creators,” said Pinel, emphasizing the importance of his work in the training of future generations.
