A Deep Loss for the Community

Unfortunately, we said goodbye to a prominent figure: Enric Morist. His departure, premature and unexpected, has left an immense gap in the hearts of all those who knew him. Reflecting on his life and legacy is a challenge, but it is essential to keep his memory alive.

An inheritance of values

From an early age, Henry absorbed the values of solidarity and altruism, influenced by his father, Jordi Morist, an emblematic figure in the Red Cross Igualada. This family connection was key in its development as a leader, a role that it has with admirable naturalness.

Shared experiences in unexplored land

The world of journalism allowed me to get to know Henry more personal, especially during a trip to Bosnia, shortly after the Dayton agreements. At that time, the country was a maze of minefields, and its dedication to the inauguration of an A Travnik school, funded by the Red Cross, reflected its passion for social justice.

An unforgettable journey

During that trip, two other Igualadians also participated in the community’s heart: Santi Carbonell and Josep Miserachs. The passage of time may seem cruel, but their contributions last.

An act of courage and commitment

The Solidarity of Igualada with Bosnia began with an initiative that many considered risky. A group of young people from the Red Cross decided to welcome Bosnian families fleeing the conflict. Without previous experience, only with the youth energy and the determination of Enric, they opened their doors, creating a precedent that has allowed many families to find a new beginning in Catalonia.

The last interview

My last conversation with Henry, published in La Veu, was a trip to the Red Cross headquarters in Barcelona. He was especially proud of two initiatives: the 30,000 keys closet and a group of volunteers who serve support calls. His dedication to the confidentiality and well -being of others was palpable.

A farewell full of excitement

On Monday, at the farewell ceremony, the present crowd witnessed a loss that resonates beyond the individual. Its imprint is a reminder of the importance of working for others, to maintain optimism and to inspire a new generation with its example.

A future without Enric

Catalonia has lost one of its best, a man with immense potential yet to be discovered. Hope that one day we can pay tribute to Enric Morist, thus recognizing his unmatched contribution to our society.
