An alarming experience
It seems that the boy is in good health, although he has some minor injuries, the result of spending the night in the open, and little else. The previous day, this young man, who suffers from a diagnosed mental illness, went on a similar excursion in the mountains. But, on that occasion, he informed his father of his intentions and kept in constant contact with him. It was not the same last Monday as the youngster did not communicate any plans and this raised concerns from midday onwards.
The research device
At night, having no news of the young man and not knowing his whereabouts, the family notified the authorities. From 12 o’clock at night, the first investigations began without initially considering the situation as alarming. Even so, an intensive search was subsequently started both in the urban areas and in the natural surroundings of the parish. As the hours passed, the disappearance was considered a risk.
Rescue and assistance
Already early in the morning, a search operation was launched with the help of a helicopter and professionals from different bodies such as police, firefighters and canine agents. A command center was established in the Balcó del Solà area. Given the lack of news, the police requested the public’s cooperation before 9 am.
Shortly before 10 a.m., the young man informed his father of his location on the mountain and provided geolocation, which was crucial in locating him later. Due to the difficulty of access, it was necessary to use the helicopter to rescue him and transfer him to a hospital, indicating that he was in good health.
