A Christmas full of magic in Reus
From Thursday 28 November until 6 January, the city of Reus is preparing to live a unique Christmas experience with the ‘Reus is Christmas’ campaign. Promoted by the City Council and various local entities, this initiative seeks to make Reus an attractive destination for leisure and shopping during the holidays, with an approach that transcends beyond the Christmas period.
Celebration spaces and activities
The streets and squares of the city will be transformed into magical scenes decorated with Christmas lights and special activities. Spaces such as Plaça Mercadal, Prim, and other emblematic points will host shows and actions that will invite visitors to experience Christmas intensely.
A spectacular start
The campaign will kick off with the show ‘Diamonds Falling from the Sky’ on November 28th at 6:30 p.m., where light will be the protagonist. This light and musical presentation promises to create a unique atmosphere, culminating in a surprise that will officially turn on the Christmas lights.
Promotion and visibility of the city
In order to ensure that citizens and visitors are informed, a Christmas Events Agenda has been designed that will include all the scheduled activities. This agenda will be available both in physical format and through social networks and official websites.
Improvements in lighting
With a budget of 512,000 euros, the City Council has decided to expand the Christmas lighting to include new streets and spaces. Among the novelties is the use of innovative materials that generate unique visual effects, such as ‘glitter’, which can only be seen in Reus.
Tradition and innovation
In addition to the new proposals, traditions will be maintained such as the Christmas Market in Plaça Mercadal and the installation of the Christmas tree, which will become a meeting point for families. Traditional activities will also include the welcoming of the Royal Pages and the Cavalcade of Kings.
Activities for everyone
The program will include children’s attractions, concerts and shows such as the Living Altarpieces in Parc de Sant Jordi, which will delight young and old alike. In addition, quiet spaces will be set up to ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities in a relaxed atmosphere.
A Christmas to remember
With a proposal that combines tradition with modernity, Reus is positioned as an essential destination to experience Christmas. The festivities not only promote leisure, but also value local heritage and encourage citizen participation. The activities that have been designed will be an opportunity to connect with the Christmas spirit and enjoy the magic of these dates.
