A project for commercial innovation

The Diputació de Barcelona has launched a pioneering initiative with the aim of revitalizing rural shops in 38 municipalities, including Bruc, Calaf and Sant Martí Sesgueioles. This action is part of a wider project called “rural and essential trade: innovative, sustainable and efficient”, which has a budget of 612,900 euros, of which a large part comes from Fund Next Generation.

A strategic approach to small communities

The strategy is mainly aimed at municipalities with populations of less than 5,000 inhabitants, with a special interest in those who have a high proportion of people over 65. This includes counties such as Osona, Berguedà and Moianès, which join Anoia in this mission of commercial modernization.

Key actions for transformation

Improvement of commercial infrastructure

Among the actions planned is the installation of multi-tempership cabinets in 13 municipalities, which will allow customers to collect orders outside of commercial hours. In addition, 54 Wi -Fi antennas have been established in 17 locations, improving Internet access for both merchants and consumers.

Promotion and visibility of shops

The creation of a digital directory called “Shops of my town” seeks to promote local shops, with the aim of including 174 establishments in 20 municipalities. In addition, a new digital platform will connect small producers with shops, facilitating access to local products.

Fostering sustainability

Another highlight is the introduction of the reusable packaging passport, an initiative that promotes sustainability and will reward clients with a basket for their responsible purchases. This program is implemented in 365 shops in 28 municipalities.

Training and support for communities

To guarantee the success of these initiatives, training sessions will be held in 169 establishments in 20 municipalities, focusing on the use of technology and the circular economy, thus helping to create a more robust commercial base and adapted to modern times.

A promising future for rural trade

With these actions, the Diputació de Barcelona seeks not only to revitalize the local economy, but also to strengthen the social and community bonds, ensuring a more sustainable and dynamic future for rural shops. The response to these initiatives will be key to determining the viability and long -term impact on these communities.
