Rural tourism in Central Catalonia
The rural tourism sector in Central Catalonia has experienced a stabilization in the arrival of foreign tourists during the summer.
Occupations above 70%
The rural houses in Central Catalonia have registered occupations of more than 70% during the month of August, according to the rural tourism associations of the territory.
Although some rural houses were at full capacity in the first weeks of August, the month as a whole has made it possible to recover from a season that began with occupations around 50% in July.
Foreign tourism
The sector has also noticed a stability in the arrival of foreign tourists. Mainly, visitors come from France, Belgium, Holland, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Despite efforts to deseasonalize the tourist season, foreigners show a growing interest in visiting Central Catalonia during the month of August.
Recovery prospects
The rural tourism sector is beginning to see signs of recovery, although this is a slow recovery and is still in its early stages.
The rural houses in the central counties have a positive balance sheet for the month of August, with occupations exceeding 70% and an upward trend in the arrival of foreign tourists.
