The Costa Brava Girona Water Consortium denounces acts of sabotage
Several wells that guarantee the water supply to 12 municipalities in Alt Empordà have been the subject of sabotage, as reported by the Costa Brava Girona Water Consortium. The infrastructures, intended to reinforce the water supply during the summer, have been completely unusable due to acts of vandalism.

Broken structures and uncontrollable water
The well facilities of the Castelló d’Empúries poultry house have serious damage, including broken structures, water fountains without a stop and burnt facilities. This act of sabotage puts the water supply to a dozen towns in the region at risk, generating an emergency situation.

Denunciation and investigation of the facts
The Costa Brava Water Consortium has filed a complaint with the Mossos d’Esquadra to clarify the facts and determine those responsible for the act of vandalism. The president of the consortium, Miquel Noguer, emphasized the need to thoroughly investigate this sabotage which coincides with other local protests related to water supply.
Consequences and alternatives
The representatives of the Consortium recognize the difficulties that this sabotage implies, indicating that they will have to look for alternatives to guarantee the supply of water to the affected municipalities. The situation, already critical due to the drought, becomes even more serious due to these acts of vandalism.
