A new device for job safety
A recent technological advance has reached the ski resorts managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), with the aim of improving the safety of workers. This innovative device, designed to be activated in emergency situations, allows the user’s real -time location, ensuring an immediate response to any incident.
Pilot test at ski resorts
The initiative, which is carried out in collaboration with Caser, covers the six mountain stations that FGC manages: La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll. This pilot test seeks not only to implement the new technology, but also to strengthen the commitment to the safety of the teams working in these areas.
Snowfy: The innovative device
Known as Snowfy, this device allows workers to activate an alarm signal simply pulling a mechanism. This triggers an alert on the associated mobile phone, either from the control center or the guard staff, thus facilitating the quick response to emergencies.
Training and implementation
During the months of January and February, a series of trainings have been carried out to prepare the staff for the use of this new device. A total of 162 employees at FGC Turisme stations will be equipped with Snowfy, thus improving the security measures on the slopes.
Commitment to innovation
FGC President Carles Ruiz Novella emphasized that this initiative is an important step in its mission to guarantee the safety of employees. Ruiz Novella has stated that “investing in innovative technologies is essential to meet the challenges of managing modern and efficient ski resorts.”
Positive impact on the experience of skiers
Gloria López Raposo, commercial director of prospecting in Caser, added that this agreement not only benefits workers, but also improves the experience of all those who visit ski resorts, thus strengthening the support of snow sports and the implementation of new technologies.
