The PSC chooses Montmeló as the setting for Pedro Sánchez’s second rally

The Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC) has selected Montmeló as the place to hold the second rally with Pedro Sánchez as part of the campaign for the May 12 elections. Salvador Illa, the PSC candidate, has chosen to give the spotlight to the party leader, especially after the recent ‘crisis of reflection’.

The format of the rally and participation

The format of the rally followed the traditions established by the PSC, with a festive atmosphere in Vallès. The event was attended by around 2,000 people in the Torreta park. In addition to Pedro Sánchez and Salvador Illa, the mayor of Montmeló, Pere Rodríguez, and the candidate for the Parliament of Catalonia, Conchi Jiménez, participated. Representatives of the socialist federations of Euskadi and Andalusia were also present.

Call for mobilization and political proposals

Both Illa and Sánchez called for total mobilization. Pedro Sánchez highlighted the importance of a broad victory to guarantee stability and strength to govern. Furthermore, he made reference to the political situation in Catalonia in 2017, pointing out the presence of ‘two right-wing presidents’ at that time, referring to Puigdemont and Rajoy.

Mentions to political leaders and investment proposals

During the rally, political leaders such as Núñez Feijoo, Santiago Abascal and José María Aznar were mentioned. On the other hand, Salvador Illa announced an investment plan of 800 million euros in a new development project for 25 neighborhoods, as well as an additional investment of 300 million euros for municipalities that wish to improve the ‘urbanizations’.
