Cavatast: A World Cava Festival
Between October 4 and 6, Sant Sadurní d’Anoia will become the global center for lovers of sparkling drinks with the celebration of the 28th edition of Cavatast. This event, which will be held in Lluís Companys park, will maintain its format of tasting tickets and the possibility of buying or renting glasses.
A Diverse Gastronomic Experience
The fair will have the participation of 25 wineries and 10 food stands, offering a complete sensory experience. In addition, the Celler de la Fassina will host free tastings and activities related to food and wine, with the aim of reaffirming the city as the capital not only of cava, but of all sparkling wines.
Claim of the Capital City
Mayor Pere Vernet has expressed his intention to strengthen this capital through talks with entities such as Corpinnats and Clàssics Penedès. ‘It’s a long start, but with a spirit of collaboration, we’re looking to make Cavatast an even more inclusive and participatory event,’ he commented.
Opening by a veteran of the sector
Cavatast will be inaugurated on Friday 4 October with the presence of Josep Bujan, a renowned oenologist from the region and former technical director of Freixenet for more than forty years.
Activities and Leisure for Everyone
The weekend will also include musical performances on a dedicated stage and a children’s area with children’s workshops, ensuring there are leisure options for all ages. In addition, the Nit Jove del Cava, organized by Xaloc Events, will offer a festive evening on Friday night.
Complementary Programs
During the month of October, other events will enrich the Cavatast experience, such as the Night of the Magnums, scheduled for September 27, and the Mostra d’Artesans de SOM Sant Sadurní, which will be installed near the site of the Cavatast
Return of the Solidarity Race
Another novelty this year is the return of the País del Cava Solidarity Race, scheduled for October 27. This race, which has not been held in recent years, will take place between Vilafranca and Sant Sadurní, with a new route through vineyard paths, and will collaborate with the Food Bank of the two municipalities.
