A new horizon for local mobility

Recently, the Santa Margarida de Montbui City Council has decided to take a significant step in its management of urban transport. In the last plenary session, held last Thursday, its incorporation into the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU) was approved.

Commitment and collaboration

Mayor Jesús Miguel Juárez Tamayo and the general director of the AMTU, Joan Serra, held a first meeting that highlighted the intentions to work together to improve mobility in the municipality. The meeting was also attended by councilors Jordi Bòria Taixé and Diana Susín, who expressed their satisfaction with this new agreement.

Enrichment opportunities

Jordi Bòria Taixé, Councilor for Governance, highlighted that joining the AMTU represents an opportunity to access technical resources that will facilitate the implementation of the Montbui Mobility Plan. He also mentioned that this step opens the door to possible subsidies to improve local public transport infrastructure.

Support for the elderly

Diana Susín, councilor for the Elderly, added that this alliance represents an important step forward for the transfer of social titles to T-Mobility, a system that promises extensive technical and logistical support.

T-Mobility as a strategic tool

One of the key objectives of the AMTU is to facilitate the transfer of transport tickets to T-Mobilitat, an intelligent system created by the Barcelona ATM. Santa Margarida de Montbui has expressed great interest in integrating its tickets into this new system.

Innovation in data management

To ensure an effective transition, AMTU is working on a platform that will allow data management to remain in the hands of public institutions, while minimizing the costs associated with this change. This will ensure that municipalities continue to have access to information on transport ticket beneficiaries.

Technical and legal advice

In addition to mobility improvements, AMTU will also offer technical and legal support to Santa Margarida de Montbui. Its technical department will be responsible for developing improvement plans, demand studies and audits, as well as implementing new transport services, both urban and interurban.

A promising future

With this new partnership, Santa Margarida de Montbui not only improves its mobility, but also opens up a range of opportunities for the implementation of more efficient and sustainable services. This collaboration is an important step towards a future where urban mobility is more accessible and adapted to the needs of all citizens.
