Sávio Moreira, known as Savinho, was the star of Girona’s 4-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano. The player on loan from Troyes came on in the second half and revolutionized the game with his fast, brash and effective football. Míchel recognized that in the first half Girona had difficulty creating chances and chose to change the system and give Savinho access on the left side. “We saw that Rayo were leaving us spaces and we thought that Savinho could take advantage of them. It was a success, because it was decisive”, he explained.

Savinho arrived at Girona this summer from Troyes, where he played last season in Ligue 1. The footballer born in São Mateus stood out for his explosiveness and his goals, but he did not have many opportunities in the French team. Girona opted for him as a quality reinforcement for the attack and gave him the confidence he needed.
