A whirlwind of brotherhoods floods Seville
From Monday, May 13 to Thursday, May 16, Seville will become a hive of activity as the Rocío brotherhoods set off toward their sacred destination in the village of Rocío. This massive movement of devotees will cause a series of traffic cuts and diversions, transforming the usual rhythm of the city.
The first steps: traffic disruptions
On Monday, May 13, the Montequinto brotherhood will kick off, causing disruptions in traffic during the afternoon. The next day, the Military will join the exodus, also in the afternoon. On Wednesday the 15th, the city will wake up with the passage of the five subsidiaries that leave from the neighborhoods and the old town of Seville, which will cause outages in the early hours of the morning, coinciding with the morning rush hour.
The heart of the pilgrimage: Triana and Macarena set the pace
At 7 in the morning on Wednesday the 15th, the Brotherhood of Triana will begin its journey towards El Rocío, followed 50 minutes later by that of Macarena. These two brotherhoods are the heart of the pilgrimage, attracting thousands of devotees and creating an atmosphere of fervor and emotion.
The Romero Plan: safety and well-being on the road
To guarantee the safety and well-being of the thousands of pilgrims who undertake the path to El Rocío, the Ministry of the Presidency has activated the Romero 2024 Plan. This plan, which will be active from Monday, May 13 to Thursday, May 23, has with more than 7,000 personnel from the Board, the State, the town councils and collaborating entities.
Technology at the service of security: drones and virtual assistant
The Andalusian Government has incorporated the latest technology at the service of the safety of pilgrims. Drones, people flow and capacity control systems, GPS location technology, mass alert instruments for the population in case of emergency and a virtual assistant are just some examples of how innovation is put at the service of the celebration.
The brotherhood movement: a spectacle of devotion
This Sunday, six brotherhoods began their journey to El Rocío, followed by another eleven yesterday. This Monday, a dozen more will join the exodus, creating a spectacle of devotion and fervor that will spread throughout Andalusia.
