Exploring new perspectives on the scene
In his recent edition of Performing Arts in Betevé Direct, a specialized journalist highlights six theatrical proposals that revolve around the concept of deconstruction. These works challenge us to rethink rooted notions such as masculinity and the concept of family.
Critiques amb humor: Explore the garden garden
The company José y sus Hermanas presents ‘Explore the Garden of Cárptapos’, an ironic reflection on the tourist phenomenon that Spain has marked for decades. This work will be seen again at Villarroel from May 18, offering a fresh look at the construction of identity images.
The rurality as a reflection: the singing of dumb souls
At the Gaudí Theater, from May 29, La Tremenda presents ‘Lo Cant de les Simes’, a work that explores the denaturation of society through emblematic texts by Caterina Albert, known as Victor Català. This production brings us closer to rural Catalonia with a poetic sensitivity.
Rethinking masculinity with a closed menu
‘A closed menu’, by Jordi Casanovas, arrives at Villarroel on May 16. This piece explores the relationships between three men who reflect on their masculinity. Questions like ‘Why have we never seen crying others?’ They open the door to a discussion about social expectations.
Refuge: A new approach to family
The company La Perla 29, under the direction of Mònica Molins, premieres ‘Refugi’ at the Theater La Library. This work challenges the role of the family as a social foundation, bringing new voices and perspectives to a subject that is often of course.
Exile stories: the third escape and a little history
Cultural deconstruction is also explored in two exile -focused montages. ‘The Third Fuga’, by Victoria Szpunberg, has captivated the TNC audience since April 25, where the author shares the history of his family between Ukraine, Argentina and Catalonia. At the same time, ‘A little history’ presents Héctor Alterio, an Argentine actor of 95 years, who tells his experiences of exile in Spain, with only three functions at the Poliorama Theater from May 16 to 18.
