El departamento de turismo del Ayuntamiento de Sitges fortalece su estrategia para consolidar el posicionamiento turístico de la ciudad, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Esta primavera, se está llevando a cabo un conjunto de acciones promocionales para posicionar a los sitios como un destino turístico de calidad y versátil, tanto para el público de vacaciones como para el turismo de las reuniones y eventos (ratones). A new approach to quality tourism

The City Council of Sitges has launched a renewed initiative to strengthen its presence as a tourist destination, with special attention both in the national and international market. This spring, several actions have been scheduled that seek to position the town as a quality, versatile place of attraction, suitable for leisure travelers and professionals in the MICE sector (meetings, incentives, congresses and events).

Key events for Sitges promotion

The town has been present at prominent events, such as the All About People forum, held on the Costa Brava, where it was announced in front of British agencies specialized in meeting tourism. In addition, an episode has recently been recorded from the program ‘Here la Tierra’ by TVE, which will show the rich culture, landscapes and gastronomy of the area. Participation in the professional day of Spain Convention Bureau in Munica has also been an important step in presenting the MICE offer of Sitges to the German public.

International collaborations to enhance tourism

During the month of May, promotion actions will continue with a familiarization trip by travel agents and media from Moldova and Ukraine, organized jointly with the Catalan Tourism Agency. This action coincides with the new aerial connection between Chisinau and Barcelona, ​​which can facilitate the arrival of new visitors.

Immediate future and planned events

From May 16 to 19, Sitges will participate in the Workshop M& and Mice & Luxury Forum, where he will be able to connect with European and American markets professionals. In addition, on May 21, the town will receive a delegation of Norwegian tourists to share its tourist management model and its cultural heritage.

Towards sustainable and gastronomic tourism

At the end of May, the 27th, a Benchmarking day will be held, collaborating with the Catalan Tourism Agency and the Barcelona Provincial Council. This meeting will be used to exchange good practices in sustainable and cultural tourism with other tourist destinations. In addition, in June, a continuity is provided for in the promotion of Sitges with special attention to the winery, taking advantage of the fact that Catalonia has been named the world region of gastronomy 2025.

Planned actions include familiarization trips by specialized international agents and participation in the Tasty Catalunya Meeting, an event focused on gastronomy that will strengthen the image of Sitges as a gourmet destination.
