An Accessible Cultural Event

From January 16th to 18th, the city of Barcelona will host the 13th edition of the short film festival ‘Size Doesn’t Matter’. This event, which promotes an atmosphere of collaboration and community, will take place in two emblematic locations: the Ateneu del Raval and the Meier Auditorium at MACBA. In total, 53 carefully selected short films will be presented, divided into five thematic programs.

Diversity of Voices and Cinematic Styles

With a selection that includes fiction, documentaries, animation and essay videos from different parts of the world, the festival seeks to showcase the richness and variety of short films. The screenings, which are completely free, reflect the festival’s commitment to creating an inclusive cultural space that encourages exchange between residents and visitors.

A Dedicated Jury and Recognized Awards

The festival will culminate with the announcement of the winners by a jury made up of prominent figures from the world of cinema, such as critic Àlex Gorina and cultural producer Agnès Blot. This closing ceremony promises to be an exciting moment, with the screening of the award-winning shorts as part of the celebration.

A Taste of Stage Creativity

In addition, the festival will include a special proposal by Pere Faura, who will seek to revive the visual heritage of Georges Méliès with a new stage creation that promises to surprise the audience. This initiative is a demonstration of how the festival is not only limited to screenings, but also seeks to innovate and entertain.

A Commitment to the Community

Organized by SLOWCUrT and the Casal de barri del Raval, with the support of several local institutions, ‘La mida no importa’ is not just a film festival, but a platform that strengthens the social fabric of the neighborhood through audiovisual culture. As the organizers state, ‘small things can have a big impact’, a principle they have maintained since its first edition.
