A gesture of support in times of need
The University Hospital of Igualada has received valuable support in the form of 1,713 masks donated by the company Original Buff, SA. These masks not only have an innovative design, but also incorporate three-layer filters, guaranteeing a bacterial filtration efficiency of 98%.
Priority recipients: vulnerable patients
At a time when the circulation of respiratory viruses, such as influenza and Covid-19, is high, the hospital has decided to distribute these masks among patients undergoing oncological treatment and those receiving immunosuppressive therapy. These measures are essential to protect the health of these particularly vulnerable groups.
Donation: an act of social commitment
The donation was made on December 16 in an event that had the notable presence of David Camps, CEO of Original Buff, SA, as well as Jordi Monedero, health director of the Consorci Sanitari de l’Anoia (CSA), and Ignasi Riera, CSA manager.
Acknowledgements and reflections
During the event, Jordi Monedero expressed his gratitude on behalf of the hospital and the patients, highlighting that ‘this donation reinforces the protection of patients at a critical time for their health.’ Monedero recalled the importance of prevention and vaccination as fundamental tools to guarantee the safety of these patients.
Commitment to community health
David Camps stressed that ‘the health and well-being of people are at the core of our values.’ With this action, Buff seeks not only to fulfill its corporate responsibility, but also to contribute to improving the quality of life of patients and support the healthcare professionals who work tirelessly for them.
A look into the future
Original Buff’s donation of masks is yet another example of how companies can play a crucial role in supporting public health. At a time when society is facing numerous health challenges, initiatives like this are vital to fostering solidarity and protecting the most vulnerable.
