An exceptional weekend at the 3rd Spanish Olympic Slalom Cup
The Pallars Sports Association shone brightly during the 3rd Spanish Olympic Slalom Cup, which took place recently in Pau, France. The Pallars Sobirà club achieved a total of six podiums in the slalom and Kayak Cross competitions during the three days of competition.
Diversity of Podiums and Outstanding Performances
On Friday, Jana Belmonte took third place in the Junior C1 category, while Faust Clotet finished second in Junior K1 and will secure a spot on the Junior National Team for this summer’s World and European Championships . On the other hand, Pau Clotet won in the K1 Veteran category.
On Saturday, AE Pallars added two first positions on the podium in the slalom category, with the outstanding performance of Ian Puy in K1 Junior and Pau Clotet in K1 Veteran. Finally, on Sunday, in the Kayak Cross modality, Ian Puy took third place in Junior K1, and Faust Clotet earned first place and a place on the Kayak Cross national team thanks to his time on the track.
Remarkable Team Performance
In summary, AE Pallars achieved fourth position throughout the championship, demonstrating an exceptional performance. The athletes who stood out together with those already mentioned are Gabi Sabaté, Dídac Foz, Magí Moyes, Ferran Lengua, Urko Cot and Jurdana Erguin.
