The Sona9 contest, which promotes emerging artists in Catalan, has received a total of 158 new proposals from all over the Catalan Countries, standing out as one of the editions with the most participation in the contest’s history.
This 24th edition has managed to capture the attention of musicians and soloists from various regions, demonstrating the richness and variety of music in Catalan.
A selection of talent
The jury, made up of the organizers of the competition and prominent members of the music industry, has carefully selected the 30 groups and soloists who will participate in the 10 preliminary concerts.
The proposals chosen cover different musical genres and styles, from original pop to reggae, through urban music and pop-rock. This diversity reflects the variety and dynamics of the new Catalan music scene.

The 4 finalists of Sona9 2024 will have the opportunity to record an original song in a professional studio, under the advice of a producer and sound engineer. In addition, they will perform an intimate concert at the iCat FM studios and prepare for the grand finale.
The final of Sona9 2024 will be a spectacular event that will take place in the Luz de Gas hall in Barcelona on Saturday 16 November. This will be a unique opportunity for the finalists to showcase their talent in front of an enthusiastic audience and music industry professionals.
