Collaborators and disciples of Gaudí
Antoni Gaudí collaborated with many of his disciples and assistants, such as Francesc Berenguer, Josep Maria Jujol, Josep Francesc Ràfols, Cèsar Martinell or Joan Bergós. In addition, he had the friendship of three bishops who were key in his career: Joan Baptista Grau, Pere Joan Campins and Josep Torras i Bages. He also maintained relationships with other people such as Ignasi Casanovas and Joan Maragall.
Dr. Rosa Ribas, director of the CAGIC, states that this Gaudí Week offers an opportunity to approach the figure of Antoni Gaudí from the perspective of his time, to realize that, beyond his own genius, he was a a man who reflected what he took from the world around him, often aspects that were little analyzed or understood in isolation, and all this at the hands of established researchers and experts.
Previous editions of Gaudí Week have focused mainly on architectural work, especially the Sagrada Família. Thanks to the participation of specialists in architecture, history and archives, a more complete knowledge of Gaudí’s person and work has been achieved.
