A special celebration
On the occasion of the 50 years of existence of the Abat Oliba CEU University, the university community of this institution has been granted the possibility of winning a plenary indulgence.
The granting of the indulgence by the Holy See is a recognition of a university with a Christian influence that has managed to reach its half century of existence. This concession was offered to those attending the mass that was celebrated on Monday, April 8 in the Aula Sacra-Magna, which was dedicated to the patron saint of the UAO CEU, Santa Maria Seu de la Saviesa.
History and commemoration
The Universitat Abat Oliba CEU began its journey as a university institution in the 1973-74 academic year, initially as an affiliated center and, since 2003, as an absolutely autonomous university. The granting of the plenary indulgence is one of the milestones of the celebrations of the 50 years of existence.
Commemorative events
To celebrate this milestone, a series of events have been scheduled throughout the course, including a concert scheduled for Saturday, April 20 in the Aula Magna of the UAO CEU.
The concert will include Handel’s Messiah performed by the CEU San Pablo University choir and the Baroque Orchestra of Catalonia, with the participation of the UAO CEU choir.
