A celebration of the performing arts

The Arlequí International Festival, which will take place from May 30 to June 1, is preparing for an edition that promises to surprise with a mix of national and international artists. This event, which has already shown its worth in previous editions, becomes a meeting point for creativity and innovation in street performing arts.

A diversified programming

The streets of Mollet del Vallès will be transformed into a vibrant stage, where the public will enjoy a range of shows that cover from circus and dance to puppets and comedy. The festival not only promotes culture, it also promotes inclusion, offering shows designed for all audiences.

Prominent works

The festival will open with ‘Nozing’, a dramatized proposal by the Ual·la! Company, which combines humor and music with an innovative approach. Recognized with international awards, this show offers a unique experience with everyday instruments. Tickets will go on sale on May 16.

Fire circus and more

The show ‘Circ de Foc’ promises to close the Friday day with an exhibition that fuses dance and juggling, immersed in an atmosphere of fire and emotion. On Saturday, the Parade of Popular Culture will give way to traditional circus performances, culminating in ‘Sound of Sound’, a proposal that challenges conventions through music and dance.

The festival message

The importance of this festival is not limited to art; It represents an opportunity for social cohesion. The Mayor of Mollet del Vallès, Mireia Dionisio Calé, emphasizes that culture is essential for the identity of the city and to unite its community. This festival is a reflection of Mollet’s commitment to promote an active and participatory culture.

Growing year after year

The artistic director, Pau Segalés, said that each edition seeks to exceed expectations, and this year they present a diverse poster with companies from different countries. The festival, born in 2016, has hosted artists from more than 16 nations, including Colombia, France and Japan, consolidating itself as a key event in the cultural calendar.

A tribute to Joan Abelló

In addition to the performances, the festival pays homage to Joan Abelló, a prominent Molletan artist who was inspired by the figure of the harlequin. In commemoration of the centenary of its birth, the event seeks to remember its contribution to the arts and its influence on local culture.

A future full of possibilities

With rich and varied programming, the harlequin not only celebrates the performing arts, but also invites the community to actively participate in its culture. The excitement and energy that this festival brings are a reminder of the power of art to unite and inspire, leaving a lasting imprint on the city of Mollet del Vallès.
