A school mini-baseball league with the support of the Bages Sports Council
The Manresa Baseball Club launched this Saturday the Bages Baseball League, a mini-baseball competition that aims to promote this sport among boys and girls from schools in the region. The club from Manres has the support of the Consell Esportiu del Bages, the collaboration of the Catalan Baseball Federation and the AFERC sports association to carry out this project.
Four teams and about 40 participants on the first day
The first day of the Bages Baseball League took place at the Manresa baseball field and was attended by four teams and around 40 boys and girls. The schools that were part of this initiative were Font de Manresa, Pompeu Fabra del Pont de Vilomara, Montsenyor Gibert de Sant Fruitós de Bages and the Manresa Baseball Club school. These schools offer the after-school baseball activity at their school, where students learn the rules and skills of this sport in a fun and motivating way.
More schools join the Bages Baseball League project
This week two more schools have also been added to the Bages Baseball League project: the Muntanya del Drac school and the Pare Algué school in Manresa. With these two, there are already six schools that are part of this school mini-baseball league that aims to introduce the game of baseball in school games and to make known a sport that offers its players an attractive game with many skills that boys and girls are developing through challenges and tests of hitting, throwing, catching and running the bases. The Bages Baseball League will be held at the Manresa baseball field in a day format one Saturday a month and throughout the school year. The next day of matches will be on Saturday, March 2.
