The Non-University Teaching Staff Board of Mallorca demands the negotiation of the Agreement for social and labor improvements
The Non-University Teaching Staff Board of Mallorca has asked the Ministry of Education and Universities to carry out the immediate negotiation of all the points of the Agreement on social and labor improvements. This agreement, according to the established calendar, must be discussed at the Education Sectoral Board during the 2023-24 academic year. The Board emphasizes that, although the third quarter has just begun, there are many outstanding aspects that need to be addressed (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).
Demand for compliance with the Agreement
The Non-University Teaching Staff Board of Mallorca has also requested the implementation of the Agreement and has reported that several important points cannot wait any longer. Among these points are the study licenses, the review of the social fund, the reduction of the ratios, the sabbatical year, the paid leaves for personal matters and the leaves without pay for the teaching staff, the start-up of the service specific for linguistic standardization in the educational field, the improvement of the tutorial function and the air conditioning plan for the centers (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).
Professional career and school day
In addition, the Board of Non-University Teaching Staff of Mallorca demands that the professional career cease to be an optional extra, as the criteria and assessment items have already been published. It also requests that the school day of the teaching staff be made effective at 23 hours per week from the 2024-25 academic year.
Request for convocation of the mixed and joint committee
The Board of Non-University Teaching Personnel of Mallorca also demands from the Ministry that the mixed and joint monitoring and coordination commission be convened, as established in the Agreement. This commission has not met since its creation and it is necessary to set a date for its application. In addition, the Board requests that the dates for the negotiation of pending points be set, giving priority to those with the most demand (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).
