The Cabildo of La Palma obtains a high score in transparency
The Cabildo of La Palma has achieved an outstanding score in the Canary Islands Transparency Index 2022-2023 (ITCanarias), according to the Transparency Commissioner. In this evaluation, the Cabildo has obtained **9.93 points**, very close to the maximum score of 10. It should be noted that in the previous evaluations, corresponding to 2020 and 2021, it also obtained the maximum score.
Entities dependent on the Cabildo also stand out in transparency
In this assessment, several entities dependent on the Cabildo of La Palma have also obtained high scores in transparency. The Insular Water Council, the Island Economic Development Society (Sodepal) and the Insular School of Music have achieved **10 points**, maintaining the outstanding rating they obtained in the previous evaluations.
Other entities such as the Canarian Foundation International Center for Organic Agriculture (CIAB), the Canarian Foundation La Palma World Biosphere Reserve and the La Palma Insular Services Consortium have also obtained good scores in the 2022-2023 evaluation, demonstrating their commitment to transparency.
The island public sector in general shows good results
According to the Transparency Commissioner, the island public sector, made up of 90 entities, has obtained an average of **8.2 points** in the Canary Islands Transparency Index 2022-2023. Although there is a slight decline compared to the previous evaluation, in which an average of 8.42 points was reached, these results demonstrate the entities’ commitment to transparency.
Furthermore, the portals of the seven island councils have obtained grades above 9 points, highlighting the improvement in the portals of the Lanzarote and Fuerteventura councils, which exceed 9 for the first time in the six evaluations carried out.
Results by islands
Regarding the scores by island, the sector with the best score is that of La Gomera, which has obtained an average score of **9.71**. On the other hand, the Fuerteventura Island Council sector has improved compared to the previous year, obtaining an average of **7 points** in the ITCanarias 2022-2023.
