The Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls has recently met to start a new chapter in its career. After the General Assembly held on February 28, the excitement and the desire to start the course are palpable among the members of the entity.
Social activities and gastronomic competition
This Friday, the gang organizes its first general rehearsal, a key moment in the preparation of the season. In addition, on Sunday the headquarters will host a gastronomic competition accompanied by a musical vermouth and a karaoke session, an initiative designed to strengthen the social bonds among the members.
Objectives and challenges for the gang
Manel Urbano, gang leader, together with Xavi Pons, president, are still leading for the third consecutive year. Urbano has stated that its main objective is to consolidate the advances made in recent years and to face the challenge of unloading 10 -story castles, a pending goal that has been on the agenda since 2017.
Calendar of Performances and News
The calendar of activities maintains a continuous line, but with new outstanding additions. One of the most significant is the participation in the Festa Major de Terrassa, scheduled for July 6, an event that they have not attended since 2008.
In addition, on March 29, the group will be present at the Hospital de Sant Joan Déu in Esplugues de Llobregat to recognize the work of the professionals who attended to Mia, the lift who suffered an accident during the day of Sant Fèlix de Vilafranca.
Commitment to image rights
In relation to the controversy over image rights, the Colla Vella has stated their intention to transfer them free of charge to the Coordinator of Colles Castelleres de Catalunya, thus allowing television broadcasts. However, they have emphasized that only the group has authority to manage sponsorship agreements with public companies or institutions.
