The end of a marriage
According to information revealed by Juan Luis Galiacho in ‘El Cierre Digital’, Iñaki Urdangarin and Infanta Cristina would have signed the divorce agreement last January. Although an official statement has not been issued, their marriage has been terminated. Infanta Cristina felt humiliated and betrayed due to Iñaki’s public infidelity, but Juan Carlos, Cristina’s father, promised her that he would solve her problems once she completed her prison sentence. As part of this agreement, Juan Carlos has paid Iñaki two million euros as compensation for a book that he did not write and will provide him with a monthly pension of 25,000 euros for life, even after his death.
A new life
Currently, Iñaki Urdangarin lives in Vitoria with his new partner, Ainhoa Armentia. They have decided to get away from the media spotlight and enjoy a quieter life. Iñaki has lost all of his privileges, including his personal escort. The couple resides in a luxurious house located in an exclusive urbanization. In addition, Ainhoa Armentia’s teenage children, who are lawyers, are usually with them.
Past infidelities
It is not the first time that Iñaki Urdangarin has been unfaithful. Before his relationship with Infanta Cristina, he had an extramarital relationship with a married woman, as ‘El Mundo’ revealed. In addition, compromising text messages that Iñaki sent to another woman during the Nóos case scandal were discovered.
Relationship with Juan Carlos
According to Jaime Peñafiel, Iñaki Urdangarin had a close relationship with Juan Carlos, whom he considered like a father. They both shared a love for women and money. This relationship would have contributed to Juan Carlos’s failure as king. According to the journalist, Iñaki was never really in love with Cristina, he simply took advantage of the situation.
