The Double A: A Disconcerting Tandem

Isabel Díaz Ayuso and José Luis Martínez-Almeida, known as Double A, form a political duo that has generated a considerable stir on the Spanish political scene. These two representatives from Madrid have made a series of statements and actions that have left many perplexed.

The Milei Case: Hallucination or Reality?

One of the most striking episodes featured the Minister of Transportation, Óscar Puente, who made comments about the Argentine president, Javier Milei. Ayuso and Almeida were quick to condemn Puente’s words, calling them unacceptable and demanding his resignation.

However, Puente himself had not directly insulted Milei, but had made an observation about his peculiar behavior in a television interview. Puente suggested that Milei may have been under the influence of hallucinogenic substances, a statement that is not an insult but a description.

The Double Standard of Double A

The reaction of Ayuso and Almeida to Puente’s words is particularly ironic, since they themselves have been known for their insults and verbal attacks against the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez. Ayuso, in particular, has used foul and derogatory language in his criticism of Sánchez.

This double standard has been criticized by many, who point out that Double A has no moral authority to censor Puente’s words when they themselves have behaved in a similar way.

The ‘Bastard’ Episode: One More Clown

Another incident that highlighted Double A’s unprofessional conduct was the ‘bastard’ episode. A senior official of the Popular Party in Madrid called Óscar Puente a ‘bastard’ during a discussion about the trains that pass through Madrid.

When asked about this insult, the senior official tried to justify himself by saying that the corrector had played a trick on him and that he actually meant ‘melon’. This absurd excuse was met with ridicule and criticism.

A School of Clowning

The episodes described above suggest that in the Popular Party of Madrid there exists a kind of ‘clown school’, where members compete to say the biggest nonsense. These statements and actions not only damage the party’s image, but also contribute to an atmosphere of polarization and disrespect in Spanish politics.

A Mirror of Self-Reflection

Double A and his followers should take the time to look in the mirror every time they open their mouths. Their words and actions often reveal more about themselves than about their opponents. Instead of focusing on attacking others, they should focus on behaving in a professional and respectful manner.

The Spanish political landscape needs leaders who are qualified, respectful and have a clear vision for the future. Double A, with its erratic behavior and antics, does not meet these requirements.
