The General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE) has unanimously awarded its Medal of Honor, the institution’s highest award, to the Dynamic Duo, formed by Ramón Arcusa and Manuel de la Calva, in recognition of their exceptional career and valuable contribution to Spanish popular culture.

The Dúo Dinático is one of the pioneering and most influential groups of Spanish pop music. Their fruitful collaboration, dating back to 1959, has led to countless hits and a legion of fans around the world.
Their songs have marked entire generations, becoming anthems of resistance, hope and joy. His emblematic song ‘I will resist’ has become a symbol of resilience and fight in the face of adversity.
A Versatile Path
Beyond its musical side, the Dynamic Duo has also stood out in cinema, starring in several films in the 1960s. His artistic versatility has led them to explore different areas, such as production and musical arrangements.
His triumph in the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘La, la, la’, performed by Massiel, was a historic milestone for Spanish music.
A Deserved Recognition
The SGAE Medal of Honor is a recognition of the extraordinary career of the Dynamic Duo and their tireless work in favor of Spanish culture. His music has crossed borders, leaving an indelible mark on society.
The Medal ceremony will take place on May 9 at the SGAE headquarters in Madrid, where tribute will be paid to these two exceptional artists.
