A Summer of Competence in Restoration
Summer has come to an end, and with it, the competition to discover the best indoor restaurant in the Empordà. Three establishments have fought for the title: Tres Margarit, located in Bisbal d’Empordà, El Borinot in Peratallada and Cal Carreter in Sant Sadurní de l’Heura. In this edition, the participants have exhibited not only their culinary prowess, but also an intense competitiveness that has caused moments of tension and sharp criticism.
Tres Margarit: A Dream Space with Deficiencies
The Tres Margarit has captured the attention of rivals with its spectacular views and a well-kept atmosphere. Competitors have praised the terraces and interior decor, but it hasn’t been all praise. A tupperware with rusted lettuce has raised suspicions, and Cal Carreter’s Toni has questioned the need for so many modern stoves. At the table, the options were limited, leading rivals to consider the menu more for hotel patrons than competitive dining.
Assessments and Results
Despite the criticism, the Tres Margarit has obtained an average of 6, with the space standing out with an 8, but the price has been one of the weak points, with a 4.5. The quality of the food received a fair grade of 5.5.
The Bumblebee: Shattered Expectations
El Borinot surprised with its decoration, which was not as rustic as expected. However, the kitchen left a lot to be desired; rivals have found expired mustard and an overload of prepared dishes. The excessively long letter has caused laughter and confusion among the participants.
Criticism and Reactions
The complaints reached a new level when Toni pointed out that the snail served was excessively oily and lacked seasoning. The foie dish has raised concerns about its preparation, with Marc Ribas refusing to taste it for fear of possible risks. Desserts, recognized as purchased, have contributed to the negative ratings, with an average of 6 final.
Cal Carreter: A Disastrous End
Cal Carreter was the last to be visited, and expectations were high. However, what the rivals found was dirt and disorder that they considered unacceptable. The complaints did not take long to arrive, with Toni and his daughter Yasmina Rueda being extremely critical of the premises’ conditions.
The Dinar is Going to Be a Disaster
The menu has been a reflection of his casserole cuisine, but the lack of attention to detail has led to serious mistakes, such as poor handling of ingredients. The mussel dish, which contained ingredients prohibited for some of the diners, has provoked a strong reaction from Marc Ribas, who has refused to eat it for safety reasons. The final ratings have been devastating, with an average of 4.8.
The Winner’s Announcement
The tension has reached its peak with the presentation of the final scores. The Tres Margarit, with a score of 7, has been declared the winner, with its star dish, arros a la marinera, which has left a lasting impression. El Borinot has stayed with a 6, while Cal Carreter has closed with a 4.9, showing that competitiveness in the restaurant can be as sharp as a knife.
