The Treasury predicts a notable increase of 18.3% in income in Girona during the income campaign

According to the forecasts of the Tax Agency, it is expected that 424 million euros will be collected from the taxpayers of the Girona counties, a figure that represents a significant increase of 18.3% compared to the previous year, when revenues reach 359 million euros.

Reduction in the amounts to be returned to the declarants

In relation to the amounts to be returned to taxpayers, the data from the Tax Agency’s branch in Girona indicate that this figure is reduced compared to the previous year. The forecast is that 166 million euros will be returned to Girona taxpayers, representing a decrease of 3.1% compared to the previous year. This difference would mean a net collection of 259 million euros in the demarcation during the income declaration campaign, reflecting an increase of 37.7% compared to a year ago.

Increase in the number of declarations and reduction in returns

It is expected that in this campaign a total of 391,247 declarations will be submitted to the Girona delegation, reflecting an increase of 1% compared to the previous year. Of the taxpayers who make their declaration, it is expected that 49.7% will be entitled to a refund, representing a decrease of 6.3% compared to previous years.

Forecasts for Catalonia and Spain

At national level, the Tax Agency estimates revenues of 18,908 million euros, reflecting an increase of 12.2% compared to the previous year. Despite this, it is expected that some 11,650 million will have to be reimbursed to taxpayers, 1.8% less than in the last campaign.

For Catalonia, a positive net result of 2,754 million euros is estimated, representing an increase of 37.9% compared to the previous year. It is expected that 4,544 million euros will be received, an increase of 18.4%, and that 1,790 million will be returned, 2.8% less.

Requirements for the declaration of income

The Tax Agency has reminded that those taxpayers who only have income from work for an amount less than 22,000 euros, reduced to 15,000 euros in the case of having more than one payer, are exempt from submitting the declaration and that the second exceeds 1,000 euros. Therefore, they are also obliged to declare the recipients of the Minimum Vital Income and the self-employed.
