A Sports Success in Villa de Mazo
The II Cross Montes de Luna took place in Villa de Mazo with an attendance of more than one hundred participants, according to a statement from the town hall. This exciting sporting event took place on Friday, April 26 as part of the Cruz del Palo Podrido festivities.
The mayor and Councilor for Sports, Idafe Hernández, has highlighted that this second edition is consolidating itself as a sporting event within the extensive program of sporting activities in La Palma.
In the words of Hernández, “This year, the 100 available numbers were sold out in just three weeks, which motivates us to work to increase participation by 2025.”
Outstanding Achievements
The local runner, Oliver Baeza, won and established a new record in the event. On her part, in the female category, the young Ariana Brito also achieved victory and surpassed her own record.
Additionally, on the podium were the previous year’s winner, Joel García, and Cristian Pulido, as well as in the women’s category, Begoña González and Irene Hernández. The other classifications can be consulted on the website www.fitters.es.
