Attention from the Syndic de Greuges in Berguedà during 2023
The institution of the Sindic de Greuges has attended to a total of 72 demands in Berguedà throughout 2023, according to the annual balance presented by the body. This figure represents half of the attentions carried out during 2022, when 144 were developed. The attentions data for 2023 are the lowest in the last five years.
Types of demands and inquiries
Of the 72 demands dealt with, 32 are complaints and 38 are queries. The majority of complaints (41.7%) are related to Social Policies. This is followed by demands regarding public administration and taxes (22.2%), territorial policies (18.1%), consumption (12.5%) and citizen security and justice (5.6%). In terms of inquiries, the most abundant are linked to Consumption, with a total of 9.
Acts of office
During 2023, the Ombudsman has carried out 2 ex officio actions in Berguedà, which are still being processed. The first action is related to the municipalities that do not have a local flood action plan in place, while the second is for the provision of the transport service adapted by the county councils.

The majority of people who have addressed the Ombudsman are natural persons (96.4%), with a total of 53 people. The residents of Berga are the ones who have contacted the organization the most, with a total of 37 people. Also relevant are the number of residents of Gironella (8), Puig-reig (7) and Avià (6) who have submitted demands or inquiries.

In Catalonia, the attentions of the Ombudsman institution during 2023 have decreased by 6.8% compared to the previous year. However, complaints and ex officio actions have increased by 3.3% and 6.7% respectively, while inquiries have decreased by 14.4%. Regarding the nature of the interventions, the Social Policies group is the most common, with 43.8% of the requests.
